I am interested in a foreclosed home. How easy/hard is it to go through the process?

I am a second time home buyer (lost my first one), but now years later I saw an ad on Craigslist for foreclosed homes, so I registered with the company and they help you along the way. In this economy, will it be harder to buy now? From what I hear on the news, it is NOW the time to buy. Do you know what steps I would take to make it mine?
