How to buy a foreclosed home in Georgia (Atlanta)?

Written on April 23, 2010

I was interested in purchasing a home and was actually at the point where I was going to submit an offer through the seller’s agent. However, we found out that the house has been foreclosed upon and the owner’s bank has apparently taken control of the house.

Now that the house has been foreclosed on, what are our next steps? We want to be able to purchase the home, but need to know how this process works. Please let me know if you are familiar with the process for buying a foreclosed home in Georgia, specifically Atlanta. Thanks!
